New Favorite Song: “Beautiful Things” by Gungor

I love how God speaks through others. {Thank you Genevieve!} As a result of my {Bare} post a couple of weeks ago, I was hipped to this great song by Gungor! It’s my new favorite. I can’t stop listening to it. Oh the words… they’re just so beautiful, blessed, and encouraging.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 ESV

What a blessing it is to our Lord who makes all things new!

with peace and grace,

“I Give Myself Away” by William McDowell

After almost three weeks of studying Jennie Allen’s book, Anything: The Prayer That Unlocked My God and My Soul, I am beginning to see how much I truly have not surrendered to God. There are several pieces that I hold back. I think held back mostly out of fear.

The funny thing is that all of us hold onto the reins of our lives – like we are truly in control. Isn’t it just a mirage?

So, admittedly, I’m not fully there yet. I haven’t surrendered everything. I’m working on it. God is showing me, teaching me, and leading me. I do know that I want to give God my life to use me.

This song, “I Give Myself Away,” by William McDowell has moved me for the past week or so. I had to share! I’d love to hear how you all have surrendered {or surrendering}.

And if any women are interested, we started a study of Anything for (in)courage. It is not to late to join. Please leave me a message in the comments section.

Have a blessed week,

Hope

“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift my soul to You.” Psalm 143:8 (NKJV)

revelation song

“Revelation Song” – Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!

Do you ever have songs that get stuck in your mind and spirit? I know I do. I heard this song, Revelation Song, last Sunday at Reality SF (whose music is always amazing) and it has been in my soul all week. I had to share it with you {along with the spirit-filled lyrics}. Revelation Song, written by Jennie Lee Riddle, was first recorded at Christ For The Nations at the live worship recording, and released on their Glorious album. Kari Jobe is the amazing singer. Have a blessed weekend!

Worthy is the, Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat
[2X]

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
to You the only wise King

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus your name is power
Breath, and living water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah…

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Fill Me Up

“Fill Me Up” – Oh Yes You Do Lord!

Ok, I promise that all of my posts will not be videos. However, this song is just blessing me so much right now. I was introduced to it on a beautiful woman’s blog called Living My Someday. I heard the song once and I couldn’t get it out of my head. Amazing! With a spirit so moving, and words that are truly my prayer, this song, “Fill Me Up” by Jesus Culture must be shared!

Fill Me Up

You provide the fire
I’ll provide the sacrifice
You provide the Spirit
And I will open up inside

Fill me up God
Fill me up God
Fill me up God
Fill me up

Love of God
Overflow
Permeate
All my soul

Blessings to you,

-Hope

Be Anxious for Nothing!

As many of you know, I’m studying for the California Bar. This means I’m living in a hell I’d never known before. There are only a few other times in life where I’ve been this stressed out, worried, anxious, and just plain unhappy with life. Attorneys who have passed this stage in life and have their license tell all of us that are studying that we should feel fortunate to be in this place. I know that I should be, but it doesn’t quite feel that way most days. Most days I am struggling to continue studying and feel completely beaten. Only my faith, friends, family, and my favorite guy are getting me through.

Today, I keep reading Philippians 4:6-7 which states: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and suplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” And this is my prayer.

Dear Lord, thank you for sending me this uplifting song to raise my spirits and find the peace I need in these difficult days. I praise you for being You, glorious You. I want to thank you for all that you do in my life. Thank you for sending me friends in faith that have my humanly back.  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

What gets you through the hard times? What are your favorite bible verses? Favorite songs? I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

And in the meantime, I’m listening to William McDowell’s song, “Won’t Go Back.” Enjoy!

wishing you God’s hope, peace, and joy,

-Hope
