{Rooted} “Restless” Study – Chapters 9, 10, & 11: The Project, Immovable Fabric, & the Starting Place

Hello Rooted Ladies,

This week, my awesome co-leader, Karina Allen, developed the discussion questions for our study of “Restless”  by Jennie Allen. I have posted them below.

Chapter 9: The Project

Yeah, so this chapter brought some tears. I just think that I am a bit overwhelmed at what God might show me in this whole process of sorting through my threads. On page 75, Allen talks about God untangling our souls, stories, gifts, etc… I LOVE that! I often make a mess when I try to figure things out on my own or try to make something happen.

1. Is there a time when you tried to manipulate some gift or passion or talent or part of your story and it turned into a big mess?

Chapter 10: The Immovable Fabric

My fave section of this chapter is Built For Glory! “At the base of our souls we need to figure out whether we are building for God’s glory or our own” Jennie Allen.

This is vital! When we know that God is pleased with us and His glory is our motive, He is able to accomplish more than we can imagine. It is then that He can do greater things.

1. What area of your life do you feel the struggle between being motivated by your glory and God’s glory?

Chapter 11: The Starting Place

“Our stories lead us toward our purposes, but also make us into people strong enough to fulfill our purposes.” Jennie Allen.

1. Share something from your story that leads to your purpose.

2. How do you think that your story has and is preparing you for your purpose?

Thank you for joining us on this “Restless” journey. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the book and how God is working in your life to put together your unique purpose.

Wishing you a purpose-filled week,
