Resting & waiting on God

Be Anxious for Nothing!

As many of you know, I’m studying for the California Bar. This means I’m living in a hell I’d never known before. There are only a few other times in life where I’ve been this stressed out, worried, anxious, and just plain unhappy with life. Attorneys who have passed this stage in life and have their license tell all of us that are studying that we should feel fortunate to be in this place. I know that I should be, but it doesn’t quite feel that way most days. Most days I am struggling to continue studying and feel completely beaten. Only my faith, friends, family, and my favorite guy are getting me through.

Today, I keep reading Philippians 4:6-7 which states: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and suplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” And this is my prayer.

Dear Lord, thank you for sending me this uplifting song to raise my spirits and find the peace I need in these difficult days. I praise you for being You, glorious You. I want to thank you for all that you do in my life. Thank you for sending me friends in faith that have my humanly back.  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

What gets you through the hard times? What are your favorite bible verses? Favorite songs? I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

And in the meantime, I’m listening to William McDowell’s song, “Won’t Go Back.” Enjoy!

wishing you God’s hope, peace, and joy,

I’m in a struggle myself, but I pray and steady myself to listen. The Holy Spirit will speak, but we are used to leaning on ourselves. Anyway, in the long run I do listen and it makes things better. Most times… xo

Thank you so much for commenting! I love how you wrote “I pray and steady myself to listen.” I am going to try that. Old habits of worrying and feeling anxious die hard…. 🙂 but I’m dying to the old (or at least trying to!) Thanks so much for stopping by!

:)) You got it! And old habits of worrying and feeling anxious do die hard, with me too. However, I’m trying to start a new habit, by repeating another behavior. Let’s try this together! :)) Blog about the journey and results sometime? Much Hope, Joy & Peace…
